| Approach | The overall philosophy/theory of how learning happens (e.g., behaviorist approach, constructivist approach) — the broadest level. |
| Method | A systematic, planned procedure for teaching content, derived from an approach (e.g., lecture method, discussion method). |
| Technique | A specific classroom trick/device used within a method to achieve a particular objective (e.g., questioning, use of an analogy, think-pair-share). |
| Strategy | A combination of methods and techniques planned to achieve a specific instructional goal. |
Exam angle: "Approach → Method → Technique" is the standard hierarchy from broadest to most specific — a very common ordering question.

Alternate simple framing (also tested): Method = a macro approach — the overall plan for delivering content (e.g., the Lecture method). Strategy = a micro approach — specific, moment-to-moment planning to manage the classroom situation as it unfolds.
